Refund policy
As a small and growing business we are unable to accept returns, exchanges, or order cancellations once an order has been placed. Many of our items are released in limited quantities and cannot be restocked, which prevents us from reselling returned merchandise.
We kindly encourage customers to carefully review all product descriptions, sizing information (when applicable), materials, and details prior to completing their purchase.
Additional Policy Information
Joy in a Mug is not responsible for:
- Incorrect shipping addresses entered at checkout
- Lost or stolen packages marked as delivered by the carrier
- Normal wear and tear
- Color variations due to lighting or screen display differences
- Damage resulting from improper care, storage, or handling
Agreement to Policy
By completing a purchase with Joy in a Mug, you acknowledge and agree to this Return & Exchange Policy. We have a 14-day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return.
Damaged or Defective Items
If your item arrives damaged or defective, you must contact us within 48 hours of confirmed delivery. Failure to report damage within 48 hours may result in denial of the claim.
All claims are reviewed individually. If approved, we reserves the right to:
- Issue a replacement (if inventory is available), or
- Issue store credit at our discretion
Refunds are not guaranteed and will only be issued if a replacement is not possible.
To be eligible for a return, the following requirements must be meet:
- In same condition as received
- Unworn, or used, with tags and original packaging
- Receipt - Proof of Purchase including order numbeR
- Clear photos of the Item including packaging
- A detailed description of the issue

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted. Please note that returns must be sent to the following address:

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like perishable goods (such as food, flowers, or plants), custom products (such as special orders or personalized items), and personal care goods (such as beauty products).
We also do not accept returns for hazardous materials, flammable liquids, or gases. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
